For decades I have sought early transistors and until recently I had never come across any from India. However, now I have found a Google book (that has since disappeared) and a wikipedia page that describe a company called Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) that was producing Indian germanium transistors from 1962.

BEL do not seem to have used a logo on their transistors, just the letters BEL, usually printed in red. There are usually some for sale on eBay, often attributed to the wrong manufacturer.

If you know more about the early history of the Indian semiconductor industry, please

wanted transistor

The only Indian germanium transistors made by BEL that I have come across use the standard European Pro-Electron series numbering (however, there may be interesting early anomalous types of which I am unaware). If you can provide information about early Indian germanium transistors or diodes, or know where I can obtain more, please

BEL AC transistors

Here are two low-power germanium PNP AF transistors made by BEL, the AC125 and AC128. Unfortunately I cannot decode the codes underneath the part numbers, which might reveal the date of manufacture. If you know what these mean, please

BEL AD149 transistor

Here is a BEL AD149. It is a germanium PNP high-power AF amplifier type, probably originated by Philips but made by many manufacturers.

wanted BEL diodes

I do not know of any germanium diodes made by BEL. If you can provide information about early Indian germanium transistors or diodes, or know where I can obtain more, please
